Police and other first responders are currently on the scene of a road traffic collision involving three heavy trucks on South Road, Southampton, near the junction with Harbour View Drive, commonly known as the entrance to the Southampton Princess.
Initial information suggests that two of the trucks were travelling in a westerly direction when one attempted to overtake the other. During the manoeuvre, it reportedly collided with that truck as well as a third truck travelling in the opposite direction, before overturning and completely blocking the roadway.
The only reported injury is to the driver of the overturned truck, who has been transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries which are believed to be minor.
Police and Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service personnel are working to clear the scene.
Traffic is currently being diverted at Horseshoe Road and Lighthouse Road. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.
