Boasting an all-star line-up borrowed from the Island’s fiercest senior leagues, the Evening League juggernaut triumphed in a run-soaked spectacle at the cozy Devonshire Recreation Club grounds.

Batting first, Village unleashed a batting blitz, racking up a mammoth 304 runs as Terryn Fray, coming in at No. 6, blazed his way to 87 off just 55 balls. Wicketkeeper-batsman Nacori Smith [46], Malachi Trott [25], and Jonte Smith [39] kept the fireworks going in support.

Devonshire guest players Kamau Leverock and Zeko Burgess did their part in defence against a raging batting attack, each claiming four wickets at economical rates; however, Village’s bats showed little mercy upon those less proficient.
Set a run rate of 6.4 runs per over, the home team began their chase circumspectly, before a steady loss of wickets slowed the cause further.
Hope flickered as the irrepressible Ricardo Brangman and Burgess stitched together a sixth-wicket stand, propelling Rec past the required rate as the 30-over mark loomed.

Brangman blazed to 101 off 64 balls, peppering the boundary with 10 sixes and four fours, while Burgess cracked 27 with five crisply struck fours—the duo piling on 67 for the sixth wicket.
Burgess’s exit at 188 sounded the death knell for Rec’s hopes, even as Brangman and No. 8 Jahzarde Samuels [11] briefly delayed the inevitable with a 42-run seventh-wicket stand.

Jonte Smith slammed the door shut on Devonshire, breaking the Brangman/Burgess stand and cleaning up the tail—including the quick wickets of Antrell Butterfield [0] and last-man Llineiko Millet [1]. Smith finished with a five-wicket haul, conceding just 61 runs.
Dennico Hollis and Makai Young chipped in with two wickets apiece to seal the deal.
