New group links with DailyMale in fight against prostate cancer

Two charitable orgnisations, DailyMale Men’s Health Clinis and Prostate Awareness Bermuda have a budding relationship that is hopeful of reaping positive results in the area of improved available health care for mature males.

DailyMale this weekend (April 6th) has teamed with Prostate Awareness Bermuda as it continues its series of free pop-up clinics at local, grassroots institutions that harbour high risk men, who may be uninsured, under-insured or in some way reluctant to utilise beneficial health care programmes and/or engage the services of specialist health care professionals relative to prostate cancer testing and increased risk of in the area.

Warwick Workmen’s Club (from 9 a.m.–1 p.m.) is the venue for the fourth edition of the free health clinic, which has drawn raves for its quality testing procedures, inviting personal attention, care and manner and providing swift course of action in testing for early/advanced/negligible indicators of prostate cancer and cardiovasclar disease.

There will be provides a capacity to test at least 40 individuals, age 60 and above. potentoEachusing prostate cancer geared toward similar goals.
Prostate Awareness Bermuda has as part of its mission to provide support to men who have been diagnosed, being treated or have had prostate cancer, as well as to assist other community and health care organizations to provide awareness to
men and their families on matters associated with men’s health in forums where men can safely and confidentially discuss and raise questions on prostate related issues.

”There is no formal relationship at the moment. members assist when there are clinics,” said a spokesperson for the fledgling group. “However, we have been able to provide emotional support and our experiences to men who after testing positive are made aware of the group and seek to join.

“It is clear that our (proposed) Mission is compatible with the goals of DailyMale;  to bring awareness to healthcare organizations involved in promoting and encouraging men’s health.”
