Mstira Weeks announced as C12 Independent candidate

In the build-up to the General Election, a new contender entered the political arena, shaking up the race with fresh perspectives and a passionate call for change. Ms. Mstira Weeks, representing the Independent Group in the C-12 constituency, made her public debut this morning in a candid interview with TNN’s Trevor Lindsay

C-12, which encompasses Devonshire South Central, has long been a pivotal district. However, Weeks believes that the tides are turning, and it’s time for bold, innovative leadership to steer the community toward a brighter future.

I’m m stepping into this race because we need to rethink outside the box, Weeks declared. We need creativity and innovation. I’ve invested a lot in this country, and I know many others have too. But right now, we’re re going in the wrong direction. If we want a better future for our childrens children, someone has to stand up and do something. I’m taking that chance.

Her critique of the current administration was sharp but heartfelt. The PLP today isn’t the PLP my grandparents voted for. They’ve fallen out of touch with what the people really need. There are too many suffering in silence, too many homeless, and the cost of food is skyrocketing. We need creative and innovative solutions to get out of this hardship.

Weeks entry into politics is particularly noteworthy given her stance as a private individual with no social media presence. This resonates with many young people who feel alienated from traditional politics.

I get it, she acknowledged. I felt the same way. I enjoy doing business and creating. But at some point, we can’t just complain or run away. We have to stand up and try to make a difference. Her message to the younger generation was clear: On February 18th, come out and vote. Vote for change. Don’t vote for blind loyalty or because your grandparents did. The world you live in today is different” how you make money is different, how you communicate is different. Let’s vote differently too.

Her impassioned plea underscores a growing sentiment among independents who are disillusioned with the traditional political landscape. With her fresh approach and determination, Weeks aims to galvanize the youth and inspire a wave of creative thinking in Devonshire South Central. Whether her message will resonate with voters remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: this by-election is shaping up to be a dynamic and transformative moment for the region.
