MORE LOSS OF SERVICE INCONVENIENCE FOR ONE COMMUNICATIONS SUBSCIBERS

For the second time in a week, subscribers to local telecom giant One Communications again have been made to experience broad loss of service, with internet and cable having gone down around midnight.

However, unlike last week’s sudden, brief interruption, which was described by one customer service representatve as a result of an uninitiated “technical issue”, today’s early morning shutdown was deliberate.

Many One Communication clients were made aware of an impending suspension of static services to homes, although there has been little information as to the exact duration of the suspension.

Some will have yet been able to access internet and perform actvities on computers, televisions and other devices via USB tethering and pairing by use of bluetooth, but such methods to get online would serve to impact data usage, making for a existential shortfall and create added expense.

It is unsure as to whether the comunications firm will be offering rebates to customer billings for home cable and and/or topping up of talk and data packages as compensation.

TNN is attempting to contact the relevant administrators at One Communications regarding the outage and correlated issues.
