“As we move beyond the pandemic, it was refreshing to connect with our seniors in person at our first Talk and Tea event on Friday, 26 August.” said the Hon. Tinee S. Furbert, JP, MP, Minister of Social Development and Seniors.
“The event was well attended, and our seniors provided invaluable feedback.”
Minister Furbert added, “Our seniors had many questions and concerns that we were able to acknowledge and provide feedback and workable solutions.”
“As Bermuda is forecasted to have a senior population of 33% by 2036, it was enlightening to hear directly from our seniors what an age-friendly community would look like for them.”
“Gathering data in this way helps us ensure we are listening to the needs of our senior population and working towards providing solutions.”
Minister Furbert concluded, “Thank you to the seniors who attended and provided critical feedback.”
“Thank you to Ageing and Disability Services, Ageing Well Committee, and the Bermuda Police Service, who helped to ensure this event was a success.”
