National Security Minister Michael Weeks condemns fatal stabbing incident

After receiving the news that a man was stabbed to death in Warwick on Saturday night, the Minister of National Security, the Hon. Michael Weeks, JP, MP, today stated: “I want the family and friends of this young man to know that my heart goes out to them during this difficult time.

“I was saddened and disturbed by the news. Losing anyone through violence is not normal, especially in such a small community.

“I realise that many in our island have become desensitised to the community violence issue; however, these continuous acts point to a deeper problem that we must collectively confront.”

Minister Weeks calls on the community to support the Bermuda Police Service in their investigation by providing any information that may help investigators.

Police may be contacted on 211, 295-0011, Detective Inspector Jason Smith directly on 717-0864, or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
