Minister Hayward Attends BTA Joint Hotelier Stakeholder Meeting

Recently, the Minister of Labour, the Hon Jason Hayward, JP, MP, and his team attended the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) joint hotelier stakeholder meeting hosted at The Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.

The group held roundtable discussions about employment opportunities in the hotels and attracting Bermudians to the industry. They also reviewed the findings from the Hospitality Needs assessment conducted by PwC and will continue holding regular meetings to keep the effort on track.

Minister Hayward stated, “In line with Bermuda’s Economic Recovery Plan, which includes execution of both the National Jobs Strategy and Youth Employment Strategy, these stakeholder meetings and forums are vital. As we move towards building a healthy economy where Bermudians can be employed, we must also ensure that the hotel industry can meet the needs of guests staying at their properties.’

There are also plans for a recruitment drive on December 21 to connect job seekers interested in working in the hotel industry with HR Managers and assist hotels with filling crucial job vacancies within their properties. The BTA will provide further details in the coming days.
