Members of Regiment Test Positive for Virus while Overseas, According to a well placed reliable source who will remain anonymous stated, 40 out of the 140-strong members of the Royal Bermuda Regiment Soldiers have tested positive for the Coronavirus since Mother’s Day (May 8), during a training trip overseas.
“ I’m not understanding why they have still not tested everyone [in the regiment], they’ve only tested people with symptoms,” the source said. “ I’m the only one who has voiced my concerns, whereas everyone else is like ‘it is what it is.’”
According to the source, who has been under quarantine for the past week due to testing positive on Monday or Tuesday some positive cases are returning to Bermuda this afternoon alongside people who tested negative, I feel it’s a bad move.
The source said that they tested for the virus yesterday and it came back very faintly positive, after testing positive since Tuesday. They plan to quarantine as soon as they get back to the
island, in a location where none of their family members, friends or loved ones will be.
“ We could have an outbreak [as a result of this], and they will then try to save the regiment’s face,” they said. “ The regiment needs to be put on blast for things like this. The public always
views them as forces of good, but look at what is happening; they’re throwing everyone on a plane with people who have tested positive.”
