Mayor of Hamilton Will Not Seek Re- Election

Among the many patrons present at this afternoon’s Court Street vendor’s market was Mayor of Hamilton, the Right Worshipful Charles Gosling, JP.

“ We are seeing a lot of vendors who are not normally out here trying to make money and hopefully they will get some good business out of it,” he said. “Anything that can make our fellow Bermudians do better will make us all a little bit better.”

According to him, one of the things that the city of Hamilton did during the pandemic to help businesses was introduce more al fresco dining in restaurants as well as trying to keep things moving and as positive as possible.

“ One of the main things to consider in 2022 is for the Corporation of Hamilton to have its election,” he explained. “ Hopefully, there will be a lot of fresh new faces running for mayor and councillor.

We have also been working with the Minister of Transport to get a cruise ship back in Hamilton, which is an economic initiative that will have an almost immediate impact on the city.”

Mayor Gosling will not be seeking reelection next year and plans to pass the mayoral baton to a fresh new face.————————————————————————————————Any content which is considered unsuitable, unlawful, or offensive, includes personal details, advertises or promotes products, services or websites, or repeats previous comments will be removed.
