Word coming to TNN News from reliable sources suggesting that a marital scandal has erupted at the center of the ruling Progressive Labour Party, leaving senior members scrambling to contain the fallout.
According to information reaching our newsroom, the situation involves a party candidate in the last General Election and a sitting Minister has emerged, with tensions escalating to the point of an alleged verbal altercation involving the husband of a woman at the center of the controversy.
For legal reasons and to protect other family members caught in the middle of this scandal TNN will not be identifying the wife, her husband, or the Minister involved.
What we can confirm is that during a recent party function, the Minister in question was seen entering the event alongside the woman. Her husband was also present at the function, at the end of the event a discussion with the husband and three members of the ruling party in which we understand the husband felt ambushed, at this meeting also described as a heated conversation that took place.
TNN further understands that the Leader of the PLP is well aware of the situation, and discussions are now taking place within executive circles on how to address the scandal. Onlookers and members close to the executive have expressed to TNN shock and disappointment at what they describe as “appalling behavior” from those involved.
TNN News understands legal registered documents have been served on two persons at the center of this scandal, with more legal fallout expected surrounding this matter.
