Man injured in head on collision with DPT Bus

Around 9:20am Saturday, 9th March 2024, a reported two vehicle collision occurred on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish, near the junction with Quarry Road.

It appears that a head-on collision involving a motorcyclist and a Department of Public Transportation (DPT) bus in the Shark Hole Hill area, resulted in the rider being temporarily trapped under the front of the bus, while still on the motorcycle.

The injured motorcyclist, understood to be a 29-year-old Pembroke man remained conscious throughout, as passengers from the bus assisted him until he could be extricated and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

At last check he remained hospitalised, with injuries that were considered non-life threatening.

The bus driver and passengers were not hurt. However, both vehicles involved were damaged.
