Man found guilty of child pornography offences

A 30 year old male is facing prison time after being found guilty of numerous child-porn .

St George’s resident Cahlii Smith was found guilty of several charges, including the distribution of child pornography, extortion, making child pornography and accessing child pornography and bkackmail.

The court, heard during the course of the trial, received testimony from two female victims under the age of 16, who had been contacted by the perpetrator by Facebook.

The victims were convinced to submit pornographic pictures and videos, which they did with their submissions subsequently circulated via social media by Smith.

Smith had denied the offences but was subsequently found guilty. The east end resident was remanded into custody and will return to court for sentencing in the future.
