Man charged with firearm and ammunition in Magistrates Court

A twenty nine year old man appeared in Magistrate’s Court this morning facing firearm and ammunition charges.

Jahni Holder of Pembroke was not required to enter a plea to the two indictable offenses.

Holder was charged for being in possession of a Smith and Wesson 9 mm firearm. He faces another charge of being in possession of twelve rounds of 9 mm ammunition, while not having a valid license.

The offences are alleged to have occurred on or about the 4th day of March, 2024

Crown Counsel Carrington Mahoney objected to bail being granted as the accused is currently out on bail in connection with a separate Supreme Court matter.

Holder was represented by attorney Charles Richardson.

Senior Magistrate Maxanne Anderson remanded Holder into custody.

His next appearance is scheduled for the April 1, 2024 monthly arraignment session.
