Man charged with bladed article related offense in Magistrate Court

Appearing in Magistrates’ Court today,was a 20 year old Warwick man was charged with 5 offences relating to a bladed article and driving whilst impaired.

Nasir Smith has been charged with (1) driving while impaired by alcohol, (2) driving whilst impaired by a drug, (3) driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit, (4) driving while under the influence of MDMA and (5) possession of a bladed article.

Mr Smith pled not guilty to all offences.

Senior Magistrate Maxanne Anderson set bail to the sum $5000 with a like surety. He is required to report to the Hamilton Police Station on Tuesdays and Saturdays between the hours of 7am – 4pm and is to abide by a 9pm – 6am curfew.

Smith was represented by Victoria Greening and will return to court at a later date.
