Man Charged in Magistrate Court for Attempted Burglary and Bladed Article Possession

A twenty five year old man, of no fixed abode appeared in Magistrate Court this morning on charges of Attempted Burglary and Possession of a Bladed article.

Tarik Ebbin pleaded guilty to the two offences before Senior Magistrate the Wor. Maxanne Anderson.

Prosecutor for the Crown, Nicole Smith “Stated that on Sunday October 30th 2022, the accused was spotted on CCTV footage attempting to enter as a trespasser a building namely Bermudiana Arcade, located at 27 Queen Street, with intent to steal. Contrary to Section 32 (1) of the Criminal Code as read with Section 339 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code.”

“Also on the same day October 30th 2022, in Pembroke Parish, begin in a public place, had in his possession a blades article namely a knife with a cutting edge over three inches. Contrary to section 315C of the Criminal Code.”

Ebbin was remanded into custody as a Social Inquiry Report was order, as well as a BARC Assessment Report, with the intention of a possible candidate for the Drug Treatment Court Program. Ebbin had stated via Duty Consul  Aura Cassidy that he has a substance abuse problem.
