Local retail business facilitates second life for quality furniture

Island Trading is delighted to give back whenever possible, and Habitat for Humanity of Bermuda is such an important charity. Their Habitat for Humanity ReStore located at 4 Front Street in Hamilton is focused on repurposing new and gently used items, while raising funds that benefit wonderful and valuable causes.

Sonia Burgess, Senior Sales Associate at Island Trading recently assisted a customer who had purchased furniture ten years ago from Island Trading and simply wanted to make some changes in their home. The outdoor four-piece set was in near perfect condition and Island Trading with the assistance of Joe Vieira Trucking offered to remove the set and donate it to Habitat for Humanity so that funds could be raised for a good cause.

“We are very grateful for our longstanding customers who take such good care of their furniture and who love to join us in supporting initiatives to help the community.” says Laura Farge-Lowe

Sandra Warner, secretary/treasurer of Habitat for Humanity of Bermuda manages the ReStore and says “Everyday something new comes in and we are so grateful to partner with Island Trading as they continuously bless us with donations, and we are just so very thankful.”

Habitat for Humanity of Bermuda is an affiliate for Habitat for Humanity that was originally founded in 1976 in the United States.
