During the Coronavirus pandemic, Robert Smith decided to do something for the people of Bermuda, rather than having it be the other way around. So, he had tee shirts designed which read “ I’ve had my COVID vaccine; what about you?”
Mr. Smith plans to give a few shirts to various charities and organizations to give out or sell; including the Salvation Army, various old folks’ homes, the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club and the riding school.
“ I will pay these organizations a certain amount to sell the tee-shirts and the money could be used for whatever they decide,” Mr. Smith said. “I think that these shirts might give people more confidence, when they go out for dinner, to have these shirts on.”
Mr. Smith would like to make it clear that not just anyone can purchase one of these shirts; they must show proof that they have indeed received both doses of the vaccine. “ Let me make it clear, I’ve received both jabs of the vaccine, I’m an elder and through out my life I’ve had many vaccines ask anyone over 50 years old, to be honest I’m trusting God in this process.”
“ Reports have shown that [the vaccines] are helping, so I am jumping on the program,” he said. “I have nothing against people who do not want to take the vaccine, that’s their choice, but think about [those around you].”
Anyone who is interested in these shirts can contact Mr. Smith at 777-6589 or Cherita Caisey at 504-7037.
