Larry Mussenden to be named the New Chief Justice of Bermuda

TNN has been reliably informed that Larry Mussenden could be named Bermuda’s next Chief Justice.

Puisne Judge Mr. Mussenden has been acting in the role of Chief Justice since December 11th, 2023.

If appointed to the position, Mr. Mussenden will become Bermuda’s 43rd Chief Justice, replacing Mr. Narinder Hargun who was Bermuda’s highest ranking judge from July 2018 until December of last year.

Mr. Mussenden who was Called to the Bar in England in Wales in 1995 and the Bermuda Bar in 1996, was a Crown Counsel from 1996 to 2001 before entering Private Practice.

He was appointed Attorney-General and Minister of Justice in 2004, having been named Givernment Senate Leader in 2003.

He went on to Become Director of Public Prosecutions in 2016 and became a member of the Supreme Court in 2019.
