Large Group Exemption Blatantly Violates COVID Restrictions

A series of video clips and still images of large group gatherings including an apparent raft-up all supposedly taking place in Bermuda, has been causing quite a stir in social media locally.

The events highlighted include a performance by international recording artist, Shaggy, were reportedly put on for visiting journalists as part of a tourism promotional effort, but we have so far been unable to confirm this.

A senior tourism official suggested the events did not take place in Bermuda and were from a year ago.

The large group exemption was granted in between Sunday June 6 and Friday June 11, at the Tucker’s Point Resort and Golf Club in St. George’s

On Tuesday night, TNN inquired to Premier the Honorable David Burt, who appeared to be bewildered, stating that these posts might be old and might not even be in Bermuda.

Through investigations, TNN uncovered that these photos were taken recently and taken in Bermuda and that a large group exemption was indeed granted.

Premier Burt indicated to TNN that raft-ups of any kind are not allowed and that individuals participating in these events are in blatant violation of the law and will be subsequently prosecuted.

TNN is continuing efforts to determine the facts.

In the meantime, here are some of the images and video clips being circulated on social media

TNN is still awaiting comment on this situation from the Minister of National Security. Stay tuned to TNN for further updates on this breaking story
