King’s Birthday Reception Postponed Due to Inclement Weather

The annual King’s Birthday Reception scheduled to take place today, Thursday, June 4, at the Government House Grounds has been postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions.

According to a statement issued by Government House, the decision was made after forecasts predicted severe weather that prevented staff from safely erecting the tents and other infrastructure required for the outdoor event.

“Unfortunately, due to very unfavorable weather forecasts which prevented the staff erection of tents, a decision has been made to cancel the King’s Birthday Reception scheduled for Thursday, June 4, at Government House,” the statement said.

The Governor is hopeful that the reception can be rescheduled later this year and plans to provide invitees with further details once new arrangements have been finalized.

Government House expressed appreciation to invited guests and members of the public for their understanding and apologized for any inconvenience caused by the postponement.

The King’s Birthday Reception is a traditional annual event that brings together invited guests from across the community to mark the official celebration of His Majesty King Charles III’s birthday. Further information regarding a new date is expected to be announced in due course.
