Kim Wilkerson sworn in as the AG by Her Excellency Governor Lalgie

As Premier David Burt indicated would happen, a new Attorney General was today sworn in at Government House. That person being Attorney Kim Wilkerson, who joins the Cabinet from the private sector and will replace Dr. Emily Gail Dill in the Senate.

You may remember Ms. Wilkerson was first appointed to the Senate in 2016, during the time Marc Bean was the leader of the PLP.

This was not the only change to the Cabinet announced today. Moving to the front bench in the Lower House is Southmpton West MP Crystal Caesar, who replaces Vance Campbell as Minister responsible for the Cabinet Office.

Mr. Campbell of course last month resigned from the Progressive Labour Party and will now represent the OBA as in constituency 9, Smith’s West.

Meanwhile Jache Adams was announced as Junior Finance Minister.

Making way for Ms. Wilkerson to join the Upper House as a PLP Senator, is Dr. Emily Gail Dill who will represent the party in the upcoming by-election for Sandys North C36 which is scheduled for October 4.

That by-election made necessary by the resignation of former AG Kathy Lynn Simmons from active politics.
