Her Excellency the Governor, Ms Rena Lalgie, welcomed family and friends to
Government House for the official swearing in of Mrs Na’imah Astwood as Deputy Commissioner of Police for the Bermuda Police Service.
This appointment follows an open and competitive recruitment process to which the post was advertised both locally and internationally.
Her Excellency said, “The job of Deputy Commissioner of Police is an important
one. I know that the scale of responsibility and accountability is not lost on Mrs Astwood. I believe that she will stand with the Commissioner as a firm, consistent and modern leader within the Bermuda Police Service.”
Mrs Astwood said, “I am excited and look forward to leading the men and women
of our organisation as we continue to serve our community, making Bermuda
safer.”
