Island mourns passing of Millicent Hill

Bermuda lost one of its most cherished, colorful citizens, with the passing of Mrs. Millicent Hill, yesterday (Monday).

Mrs. Hill was the wife of Mr. Ralph Hill and mother to prominent sporting personalities Ricky, Corey Hill and the late Carla Hill.

Mrs. Hill also a dear friend to TNN and it’s owner/operator Trevor Lindsay, who well remembered the colourful and loving woman as an indelible part of the Hamilton Parish community.

“She was very kind, considerate and loving and a true pillar in, Hamilton Parish and the Bailey’s Bay area, but the island as a whole,” said Mr Lindsay. “I can recall going to the hosipital to see her along with Carla, a fellow school mate at St George Secondary, who was one year older than myself.

“I shared a particular friendship with Carla and Mrs Hill, as we would always have great conversations.

“After Carla had passed three months ago, I was able to have conversations with Mrs Hill where’s accommodating, colourful and fiercely cherishing of her children, grandchildren and entire family.

“She was an outspoken supporter of Baileys Bay and Somerset Cup Match team during the yearly Classic as she let everyone know where her loyalties lay in that regard.

“Mrs Hill will be sorely missed and our hearts and condolences, at TNN, go out to this magnificent lady’s family. She was a true Bermuda icon.”
