Hurricane Ernesto’s Impact Suspends MRI Services at BHCS

Bermuda HealthCare Services (BHCS) regrets to inform the public that our MRI machine will be temporarily out of service for a minimum of two weeks.

This disruption is a direct result of Hurricane Ernesto, which caused a prolonged power outage lasting five days.

Dr Ewart Brown, Chairman of BHCS, states: “The extended power outage led to a significant drop in the helium levels required to operate the MRI machine. As a result, we have been compelled to import helium from the United States to restore the machine to full operational capacity.”

Dr Brown added: “We understand the critical role MRI services play in patient care, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this temporary disruption may cause. Please be assured that this measure is necessary to maintain the high standard of diagnostic services BHCS is committed to providing.

We will promptly notify the public as soon as MRI services are restored at BHCS in Paget. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.”
