This past weekend Operation Vega checkpoints were put in place island-wide.
The most notable incident recorded over the period, involved a motorist who was clocked at 81kmph in St. Georges and 30 minutes later, the same motorist, was clocked at 60kmph in Warwick.
Meanwhile, around 12:25am on Monday morning, while checks were being conducted in the Warwick area, a motorist failed to stop for police, after that vehicle was clocked at 103kmph. The driver of this vehicle narrowly missed hitting three officers who were already engaged in traffic stops with several other motorists.
This type of driving behaviour is unacceptable and puts the lives of others at risk. We once again remind the public to leave your locations early enough to make it to your destination before curfew.
