Heavy downpours early this morning has caused Major roads flooded coming into the city of Hamilton from both directions eastern and western ends of the island. West of Southampton Seventh Day Adventist Church is completely guttered with water.
It is understood that there are more flooded roads by the Bishop Spencer Lane on Palmetto Road. Motorist urged to use extreme cautionand have patiece coming into the city.
We also understand that South Road in Devonshire, by DEMCO florists, is backed up with traffic.
Residents on Perimeter Lane are blocked off by debris and water from both sides of the embankment.
“We’ve had our residents trying to get through this since before 7 a.m.,” a resident said. “No cars or bikes can go through and the sad part about it is that the deepest part is too deep for any vehicles, even jeeps, to go through. Some people are taking chances, but their cars will get ruined.”
The usual area of Bakery Lane is completely flooded with one driver attempting to maneuver and navigate the high waters seen in the picture below.
