His Excellency the Governor, Andrew Murdoch, is delighted to announce that Mr Jason Outerbridge has been appointed Bermuda’s new Information Commissioner, and will take up his post with effect from the 1st of March.
Mr Outerbridge was selected from a competitive, international field of candidates through an open recruitment process. Mr Outerbridge, a Bermuda qualified Barrister and Attorney, also holds qualifications in information rights law and mediation, is an alumnus of Bermuda College, Berkely Institute, and St George’s Preparatory School, and previously served as Assistant information Commissioner.
Discussing his appointment, Mr Outerbridge said, “I am dedicated to ensuring that citizens’ rights to access public information are rigorously protected while upholding the highest standards of integrity, impartiality, accountability, privacy, and ethical practice. My leadership will focus on innovation, fairness, and the continued strengthening of public trust in how information is managed, protected and shared by public authorities.”
