The Head of the Public Service, Cherie Whitter, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Joelene Lindsay as Ministry of Finance’s Tax Commissioner.
As Tax Commissioner, Mrs. Lindsay will work under the direction of the Financial Secretary and Deputy Financial Secretary, overseeing the strategic direction and operations of the Office of the Tax Commissioner. She will lead domestic tax collection and provide key analysis, reporting, and policy advice to the Ministry of Finance.
Mrs. Lindsay brings a distinguished career and deep institutional knowledge to the position, having served in multiple capacities within the Office of the Tax Commissioner.
Most recently, she held the post of Assistant Tax Commissioner for Audit & Compliance, where she played a pivotal role in shaping policy and procedures to enhance taxpayer compliance.
Joelene Lindsay’s academic and professional credentials reflect her commitment to excellence.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, from Acadia University, a Master’s in Business Administration, and is a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Fraud Risk Specialist. She is also a graduate of the Bermuda Government Executive Leadership Programme, underscoring her dedication to public service and leadership development.
