Police have confirmed that an arrest was made yesterday in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred during Friday evening’s parade festivities on Front Street.
The Bermuda Police Service thanked members of the public who came forward with information and assistance following the disturbance, describing the incident as another example of what can be achieved when the community and police work together.
According to police, shortly after 5 p.m. on Friday, May 22, officers responded to reports of a disturbance in and around the English Market on Front Street. Initial details remain limited, but it is understood that two men became involved in an altercation inside the establishment.
During the confrontation, one man allegedly stabbed the other. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported for medical treatment. The suspected attacker was later taken into police custody.
Despite the incident occurring during the parade, authorities said the disturbance did not appear to disrupt the event.
Police are continuing investigations and are appealing to anyone with information regarding the incident to contact police at 211 or 295-0011.
