Free HIV Testing to Mark World AIDS Day

In the month of December, and ongoing support of World AIDS Day,  the Department of Health’s, Sexual/Reproductive Health Clinic is offering free HIV testing on the morning of Monday, 16 December.

This initiative aims to encourage us to take proactive steps toward our health and wellbeing, while also raising awareness about the importance of knowing your HIV status. Testing will be available from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., located at the Hamilton Health Centre, 67 Victoria Street, Hamilton, HM 12, in a confidential and supportive environment for anyone seeking to take advantage of this opportunity.

“HIV testing is a crucial step in breaking the stigma around the virus and ensuring early detection and treatment, which can significantly improve quality of life,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson.

“The Hamilton Health Centre’s commitment to making testing accessible and free underlines the importance of this year’s theme, which highlights the collective responsibility of communities to support those affected by HIV/AIDS.  Testing is simple, quick, and potentially life-saving. Together, we can create a healthier, more informed Bermuda.”

Appointments for the free testing session can be made by contacting the clinic’s reception on 246-7711 (Ext: 8223018). Spaces are limited, so individuals are encouraged to book early. The Sexual/Reproductive Health Team invites everyone to take this opportunity to prioritise their health and contribute to the global effort in tackling HIV/AIDS.
