Former National Team Cricketer Arrested in Major Drug Sting Operation

TNN has received word that a former senior men’s national cricket team player and coach was arrested in St. George’s on Saturday. His arrest is reportedly connected to an ongoing cannabis importation investigation.

TNN understands this arrest is linked to the seizure in March this year of a large quantity cannabis found inside a shipping container following a joint police and customs operation.

The cannabis seized had an estimated street value of almost two million dollars.

Four people including a former fire officer were arrested in connection with that bust at a Hamilton business.

A police spokesman said “The Bermuda Police Service can confirm a 58 year old St. George man has been arrested in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation.”

“This arrest stems from the Operation on 15th March, 2023, in which a shipping container with suspected controlled drugs was seized and searched by HM Customs and Police”

“No further information will be provided at this time.”
