Following TNN’s Breaking News Report last night on her dismissal for financial impropriety, Danielle Riviere, the now former Chief Executive Officer of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, has taken to social media to confirm the circumstances which led to her dismissal.
Striking a tone of contrition, Ms. Riviere stated, “In response to the story and comments, I apologise for disappointing those who have trusted and supported me over time. I have always tried to own my mistakes, so today I will try to do the same.
I made the worst decision and mistake of my life in a moment of weakness and desperation and transferred just over $15,000 to a personal account.
Even though I regretted my actions immediately, there is no excuse. I sincerely apologise to the staff, board, members of the Chamber and even the community of Bermuda.”
Meanwhile TNN is awaiting a response from the Bermuda Police Service on whether it has received a report from the Chamber about Ms. Riviere’s now admitted action and what course they intend to take in relation to this matter.
In a latest Update “The Bermuda Police Service can confirmed it has received a complaint from the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce.
That complaint is now under investigation.
No further information will be provided.”
