Films at BUEI’ continue at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) with the screening of the 2024 Adventure/Drama, ‘Arthur the King’ on Saturday, August 24th at 7:30pm in our Tradewinds Auditorium.
(Wheelchair Accessible) Based on true events, ‘Arthur the King’ tells the story of an adventure racing team captain befriending a stray dog
named Arthur, who ends up accompanying his team on a grueling endurance race through the Dominican Republic. Directed by Simon Cellan Jones and written by Michael Brandt, the screenplay takes inspiration from the 2016 memoir written by Mikael Lindnord and Val Hudson: Arthur – The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home.
‘Arthur the King’ is carried by a small but strong cast, with Mark Wahlberg (The Perfect Storm, Planet of the Apes, The Italian Job), Simu Liu (Blood and Water, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Barbie) and Juliet Rylance
(Sinister, A Dog’s Purpose, The Hypnotist’s Love Story) in the leading roles. The film also stars Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones, Army of Thieves, Megalopolis), Ali Suliman (Paradise Now, Body of Lies, Jack Ryan), Paul Guilfoyle
(Mrs. Doubtfire, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Don’t Look Up), and Rob Collins (Cleverman, The Wrong Girl, Total Control). Finally, the titular role of Arthur, the King – who in reality was a stray dog from Ecuador – is
played by Ukai.
The film is rated PG-13 with a runtime of 1 hour and 47 minutes. Look forward to the next installment of Films at BUEI: ‘Tuesday’, which will be screening Saturday, September
