Female Prison Officer Injured At Westgate Correctional Facility

A female Corrections officer received a suspected broken arm during a confrontation with three inmates yesterday (Friday) morning.

TNN understands the acting Divisional Officer (DO) had discovered the three inmates in an E2 cell unit at the Westgate Corrections facility during the morning recreational period on a cell phone. The officer attempted to confiscate the cell phone with the inmates in return attacking the woman causing her injuries to her hip and a possible broken arm.

Two of the inmates are believed to be serving long sentences, one serving a life sentence while the other serving twenty-five years, the third man is do to be released next month. A court appearance is anticipated for the trio.
