Hamilton, Bermuda – March 28, 2025
A father and daughter appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning facing serious drug-related charges dating back to 2020.
David Mathias, 67, and Danielle Mathias, 37, were charged with the importation of cannabis and shatter, a potent cannabis extract. Due to the indictable nature of the offenses, the pair were not required to enter a plea.
Prosecutor Carrington Mahoney informed the court that the shatter carried an estimated street value of $6 million, while the cannabis was valued at nearly $41,000.
Senior Magistrate Maxanne Anderson granted both defendants bail set at $50,000 each. As part of their bail conditions, they must report to Hamilton Police Station every Monday and Thursday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The matter has been adjourned to the monthly arraignment session on May 1.
