Family Mandated to 14-Day Quarantine due to one False Positive Test Result

After a young man Coronavirus test result came back positive earlier last week, he was told to quarantine at his residence for 14 days. However, he was also told by his doctor to get another test before he went home, just to confirm that he was positive.

“ His second test came back negative, so he asked the contact tracers if he could get another COVID test on his fourth day to reveal a second negative test,” the young man’s mother, who wishes to remain anonymous, said. “ He was then told that neither he nor anyone else in his household [including me and my younger younger son] could break quarantine within those 14 days, even to get tested again . . . [Contract tracers] are forcing us to stay in quarantine for 14 days, when we are all negative and around two dozen people are under quarantine for nothing [as a result.]”
It has been alleged that the young man has the Delta strain of the virus, which his mother does not believe is even possible. “He has not [recently] been away, to the airport or on a cruise, he has just been home,” she said.
The entire quarantine process makes no sense to his mother and has even caused her to lose her trust in the Honorable Premier David Burt’s leadership.

“ My younger son just got a job after almost a year of being unemployed, and during his second week there, he had to quarantine and lose two weeks of pay as a result, and [he is] not even positive,” she said.

According to her, four Royal Bermuda Regiment officers were sent to the family’s residence to make sure that everyone was in quarantine, which she considers to be “overkill.”

“ If someone has no symptoms of the virus, then why is the Government not allowing people to go get retested to show that they are really not positive,” she asked. Stay tuned to TNN for further updates on this story.
