The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) is inviting businesses across Bermuda to partner in developing the island’s future workforce by offering summer employment opportunities to students enrolled in the 2026 Youth Employment Programmes. Participation is cost-free for employers, as the Department fully covers all student wages.
Minister of Economy and Labour, the Hon. Jason Hayward, JP, MP, underscoring the importance of employer participation, said, “Bermuda’s young people thrive when they are given real opportunities to explore careers, gain confidence, and apply their education in meaningful ways. By opening your doors to a student this summer, you are not just filling a temporary role; you are investing in the future strength and sustainability of our economy.”
Employers interested in supporting Bermuda’s youth can register to host a student and:
- Access emerging Bermudian talent and fresh perspectives.
- Support community development and strengthen your long-term workforce pipeline.
- Provide supervised, meaningful project work throughout the summer.
Host Requirements:
- A safe, supportive, and supervised work environment.
- A designated supervisor or mentor with a simple work plan.
- Willingness to provide performance feedback to support student growth.
Employers are invited to complete the Employer Host Request Form, available at dwd.bm/youth-employment-strategy, between now and 31 December 2025.
Minister Hayward added, “When employers and government work together, we create pathways that empower our young people to succeed. I encourage all businesses, large and small, to take part in this initiative and help shape a generation of skilled, confident, and capable Bermudians.”
