EDUCATION MINISTRY UPDATE ON FRANCIS PATTON AND PURVIS PRIMARY SCHOOL

The Ministry of Education response in a statement below, to the TNN story posted earlier this week indicating delays at the two parish primary schools schedule to be opened on September 11th.

A Ministry of Education spokesman noted that “whilst there have been some delays in the construction works at Purvis Primary and Francis Patton Primary Schools, a full contingency plan to provide uninterrupted learning for the students at these schools is in place. This plan was shared initially with parents in June and will be further shared with parents directly next week.”

Project managers from the Ministry of Public Works and contractors are working very hard to ensure that the main school buildings are completed to a high standard once ready for our students.

The spokesman added: “school will open on September 11th for students and our contingency plans will ensure that all students can be welcomed and an exciting new school year can begin.”

After the meetings with parents, the Minister of Education will inform the public about school readiness and the progress made with repairs and general maintenance over the summer break.
