BermudAir Welcomes Its First Bermudian-Licensed Pilot, Tariq Lynch-Wade

BermudAir is proud to announce that Tariq Lynch-Wade has joined the team as the airline’s first Bermudian-licensed pilot. Mr. Lynch-Wade, who has been serving as BermudAir’s Head of Safety since May 2024, is now transitioning into a full-time pilot role, fulfilling his lifelong passion for aviation. This milestone not only marks a personal achievement for Mr. Lynch-Wade but also reflects BermudAir’s commitment to developing local talent and strengthening Bermuda’s presence in global aviation.

Mr. Lynch-Wade successfully navigated his first commercial flight on Monday, March 24, 2025, onboard BermudAir’s 2T551/552 non-stop Bermuda to Baltimore service.

Mr. Lynch-Wade’s aviation journey began in 2003, when he earned a Bachelor of Science in Aviation/Airway Management and Operations from Jacksonville University. He then completed flight training at Delta Connection Academy; his career includes 14 years (2010–2024) at the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA), where he attained the position of Director of Operations.

“Tariq’s journey is an inspiration, and we are incredibly proud to welcome him to our flight deck,” said Adam Scott, Founder & CEO of BermudAir. “From his leadership in aviation safety to his passion for mentoring future pilots, Tariq’s transition into a full-time pilot role is not just a personal achievement, but a historic moment for our airline and Bermuda’s aviation community.”

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Lynch-Wade has been a driving force in inspiring the next generation of Bermudian aviators. As a founding member of Aviators Alliance Bermuda, he has led community outreach initiatives, including a recent career presentation at Bermuda College earlier this month, where Bermudian pilots shared their experiences with aspiring aviation professionals.

BermudAir is dedicated to fostering local talent by providing career opportunities for Bermudians across multiple departments, from flight operations to customer service and corporate roles. The airline remains committed to building a strong workforce that drives excellence in the aviation industry while delivering world-class service that reflects the unique spirit of the island.
