Monday night began as another ordinary night for Southampton resident Alex Jones, until she suddenly received a ton of messages that a massive explosion happened at her friend house, which
shook the entire block.
Alex explains her dog was in the house when the explosion occurred at the friends house, my friend made it out of the house relatively safely.unfortunately Unfortunately, her dog Lulu did not make it out.
“ I was getting a bit frustrated, because the authorities never said that they were taking any sort of action to look for my dog,” Ms. Jones said. “ Ever since I told them that there was a dog stuck
in the rubble, nothing really happened.”
She decided to go back to the explosion site yesterday afternoon and was greeted by two policemen guarding it. She called out Lulu’s name and eventually saw her eyes and the top of her head.
The policemen and others eventually got Ms. Jones’ dog out of the debris and a short visit to the vet confirmed that she was safe and healthy.
“ I’m so thankful to everyone out there who shared that my dog was missing,” she said. “ People and their pets are universal, so the support [from the community] has been amazing.”
According to Ms. Jones, Lulu stayed in the bedroom, which was left practically intact after the explosion and the surrounding debris created a sort of tent around her.
