Discover Hamilton Tours are Back

The City of Hamilton is inviting Bermuda’s residents and visitors on a trip into the past with its FREE ‘Discover Hamilton’ walking tour, led by international award-winning Town Crier Ed Christopher.

The seasonal tour, which returned this week, takes walkers across Hamilton and past culturally and historically significant landmarks such as Nellie’s Walk, The Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, The Sessions House, and Doctor’s Row.

As the City’s Town Crier for almost 30 years, Ed’s extensive knowledge is based on years of research and oral histories passed down through the generations.
“This tour is a perfect way for both tourists and residents to learn not only about the City of Hamilton but Bermuda,” said the City’s Marketing Coordinator Sideya Dill.

“We encourage everyone to come and discover Hamilton’s rich, cultural history and immerse themselves in this fascinating experience. We invite the island’s tourism and hospitality sector to mention the City’s Discover Hamilton tour to their overseas guests and customers looking for a fun, educational, and cultural excursion at no cost. It’s the ideal introduction to the island’s capital city as Ed is a wealth of information when it comes to recommending places to visit, dine, and shop in Hamilton.”

Walk-ins are welcomed, but to avoid disappointment sign up on the City of Hamilton website to reserve your space or for more information email events@cityhall.bm

The ‘Discover Hamilton’ tour departs from City Hall at 10:30 am from Monday to Friday until December and takes approximately one hour and 45 minutes. Water is provided and gratuities are accepted. All Town Crier walking tours are wheelchair accessible.

The Town Crier also offers other City tours which are all available upon request. They include:
