Discontent with Bermuda Broadcasting Company Upper Management

There are reports of discontent at Bermuda Broadcasting Company, where it is understood that staff were recently asked to participate in a survey regarding the performance of current
company CEO Patrick Singleton.

There have been a number of resignations under Mr. Singleton’s leadership, most notably, Gary Moreno, former Head of News at Bermuda Broadcasting and who is currently Coporate Communications Manager with the Bermuda Police Service.

The most recent resignation was that of Senior News Reporter Tari Trott.

Speaking with a reliable source from inside the company said that a survey was released to all staff regarding their opinions on the company’s upper management. In this source’s opinion, the issue is not just with Mr. Singleton, but with all BBC upper management.

According to our source while a select few members of staff have seen improved salaries, others have not had a pay increase in more than ten years.

“ There are only three reporters and one cameraman left in the newsroom,” they said. . . . I never thought that it could get so bad, and believe me it’s much worse than one can imagine.”

TNN has made several calls to Mr. Singleton seeking comment, but we have so far not heard back from him.
