Diode Action Sports Electrifies the 84th Agricultural Exhibition

The 84th Agricultural Exhibition kicked off with a surge of adrenaline and international flair as Diode Action Sports made their Bermuda debut—and what a debut it was.

We caught up with the crew just moments before they hit the stage, and the excitement was palpable. “We’re Diode Action Sports, from New Jersey, across the pond,” said team leader Jason Schwinnerbart, also known by his stunt name “Schwinn Diesel” or simply “Schwinnie” on Instagram. Alongside him was the team’s headliner, bike trials superstar and stuntman, Andre Burton.

Hailing from Exeter, England, 39-year-old Burton isn’t just a trick cyclist—he’s a full-on stunt phenomenon. With a background in rock climbing, free diving, and extreme sports, Burton has racked up eight Guinness World Records and holds a spot among the top 12 bike trials riders in the world. He’s even been a course tester for European Ninja Warrior.

“He can hold his breath for five and a half minutes underwater,” Schwinnie added, clearly in awe of his teammate. “He just does it for fun. The guy’s incredible.”

It’s the first time both Schwinnie and Burton have set foot in Bermuda, and they’re thrilled to be a part of such a historic event. “We are honored to be here at the Agricultural Exhibition,” Schwinnie said. “And I think we’re the first stunt team ever to be part of it.”

When asked to show off a little something before the big show, Schwinnie grinned, “We’re going live soon. Just wait till you see what Andre can do.”

As the crowd gathers around the main event space, one thing is certain—this year’s exhibition has added a bold, high-flying chapter to its storied tradition.
