Defendants Plead Not Guilty to Conspiring to Import Drugs

Two people Appeared in Magistrate’s Court this morning on drug related charges. Marley Watkins, 38, and Adanessa Infante, 31,
both, pleaded not guilty to conspiring together to import a controlled drug into Bermuda between an unknown date and April 30 of this year.

Ms. Infante also faced another charge of attempting to remove a quantity of cash from the island on Saturday, May 1. She pleaded not guilty to this charge as well.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo adjourned the case until Monday, May 31 and released the two defendants on $7000 bail each with the following sureties: that they surrender all travel documents to the court, that they provide the court with a local address where they are currently residing, and that they report to the Hamilton Police Station on Mondays and Thursdays between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.

The two are scheduled to return to court at a later date.
