Tragedy struck in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday afternoon when a deadly three-car crash claimed the lives of two people and left four others seriously injured. The crash occurred near Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 6th Street just before 4 PM.
According to VSO (Volusia Sheriff’s Office) deputies, six people were involved in the crash and were transported to the hospital, where two of them later died from their injuries.
A nearby food truck owner captured the aftermath on his cell phone, showing VSO deputies and bystanders desperately trying to pull the victims from the wrecked vehicles. The video, which has been blurred to protect the victims’ identities, depicts a chaotic scene with cars piled up and one vehicle overturned.
Witnesses described the crash as incredibly violent. One bystander reported, “I heard a loud, like a cannon. It was so loud, like a bomb or a grenade was let off. I saw all the smoke, the cars piled up, and one car flipped over in the street.”
The VSO has not yet released the names or ages of those involved in the crash.
TNN News understands the two individuals that died in the crash are Bermudians with the victim’s daughter fighting for her life in ICU.
