Dage Minors Wins Second Butterfield Mile Race

Dage Minors claimed his second Butterfield Mile title last night, with a strong performance against a solid international field.

After maintaining a position with the lead pack early on, the Bermudian made a surge along with Elias Graca of the United Statestormed cleard at halfway mark, before sprinting away at the end, finishing first with a time of four minutes, 16 seconds.

“I felt really good tonight,” said Minors following his win. “It was a good test of my fitness and where I am in my season.
“Now I can press on and keep running indoors. I’m glad everybody came out.

The victory on Friday returned Minors to the top of the podium, after he placed second in 2020, before Covid forced the event to be postponed the past two years.

On the women’s side side, the US’ McNamara claimed her inaugural Butterfield Mile title, as she broke the tape ahead of Britain’s Ellie Stevens, winning in a time of 4:51.
