TNN News understands that COVID-19 is circulating at Dellwood Middle School, with multiple staff members and students currently absent due to the illness.
In a communication issued to parents yesterday, Dellwood Middle School Principal Tina Duke advised that a number of staff members are currently out sick with COVID-19, while three students were also absent due to the illness.
The principal urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and closely monitor their children for possible symptoms.
According to the notice, symptoms may include headaches, sore throat, runny nose, fatigue and fever, among others.
Parents were also asked to keep children at home if they are experiencing symptoms in an effort to prevent further spread of the illness within the school community.
The school is encouraging students, staff and families to continue practicing good hygiene, including regular hand washing, sanitising and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.
The communication further advised that a student may return to school once they have recovered or received a negative COVID-19 test, provided they have also been fever-free for at least 24 hours.
Principal Duke thanked parents and guardians for their continued support and cooperation in helping maintain a healthy and safe school environment.
