Couple charged in Magistrates Court with slew of dishonesty offences

An alledged Crime Spree comes to an end as forty two-year-old Jahnika Thompson of Hamilton parish and sixty three-year-old Norman Sonny Bell of no fixed abode admitted to dishonestly obtaining two Samsung cell phones worth $698 from Audio Visual Electronics in October of last year.

The pair also admitted to dishonestly obtaining $635 worth of rental cycle services from Social Cycles on October 29th last year Thompson also admitted to dishonestly paying a belco bill valued at $973.69 on October 27th and stealing $672 worth of groceries from the marketplace on October 29th of last year, however the couple denied two charges of stealing a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop belonging to the Berkley institute  between October and December 2020.

Norman Bell separately pleaded not guilty to stealing a number of goods from a hotel room at Coral Beach and Tennis Club in Paget on Sunday including a gold rolex watch baseball cap sunglasses and a wallet with $200 in cash credit cards and other items valued at $23000, Bell also denied entering the Daylesford Theater on April of this year and stealing over $6500 in cash from the safe, he also pleaded not guilty to trespassing in the area of the Dallas building on the 16th of April and taking food items hair clippers and cash value to a total of $1553.70.

Magistrate Craig Attridge sent Thompson to women prison for outstanding fines relating to an unlicensed bike and not having third party insurance coverage, dating back four years ago, Thompson will serve a 90 day prison sentence

Norman Bell was remanded into custody the couple are due back in court for mention on June 5th.
