Community Rallies as Search Intensifies for Missing Teen Ja’Dore Wilson

Tonight marked the first of many community-organized search efforts for missing 15-year-old Ja’Dore Wilson, who has not been seen since September 17th. With less than 48 hours before the one-month mark of her disappearance, the community is intensifying efforts to bring her home.

The search, organized by Wayne Caines, CEO of Liberty Group, and his team, drew a strong turnout of residents from across the island. According to Inspector Kenton Trott of the Bermuda Police Service’s Vulnerable Persons Unit, who is leading the coordinated effort alongside community members, the response was “very good.”

“This is just really a community effort,” Inspector Trott said. “This was the first of many, many more to come. It’s going to continue for the foreseeable future. And the most important thing is—it showed that the community is here.”

Participants gathered in the Pembroke area, where tonight’s search began. Inspector Trott noted that future searches will continue weekdays at 6 p.m. and weekends at 3 p.m., with the meeting locations announced one hour before each search.

“There were people from all walks of life, all ages, all colors,” Trott added. “There were even some who aren’t Bermudian, so it really shows that this call to action has been taken seriously. People are showing up.”

Ja’Dore’s family attended tonight’s search, visibly moved by the community’s support. Local pastors offered prayers, uniting volunteers in hope and determination.

“You could just tell that people are taking this seriously,” Trott said. “The community is rallying even more to show the family some support.”

When asked whether the situation had reached a crisis level, Trott didn’t hesitate.

“For me, from day one, it’s always going to be a crisis,” he said. “She’s a 15-year-old vulnerable girl, and this has been number one on our priority list since the day it happened. The Vulnerable Persons Unit has been working nonstop. We just want her home.”

In a heartfelt plea, Trott directed his message to anyone who might know where Ja’Dore is or who might be preventing her return.

“If someone is harboring her, if someone is hiding her—whatever the case might be—just release her so she can come back to her family,” he urged. “She needs to be reunited with her loved ones.”

When asked about Ja’Dore’s mindset in the days before her disappearance, Trott remained cautious, emphasizing the need to protect her privacy.

“She’s a child,” he said. “Our main priority is keeping her safe. While some people want more information, we have to remember that she’s a vulnerable person, and that information cannot be shared with everyone.”

As the community searches continue, hope remains strong that Ja’Dore will be found and reunited with her family soon.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Bermuda Police Service or the Vulnerable Persons Unit immediately.
